Stores at Nebraska Crossing Outlets in Gretna open to the public Friday at 10 a.m., but a ribbon-cutting and grand-opening ceremony will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

The event will take place on the south side of the shopping center — at the intersection of Interstate 80 and Highways 6 and 31 — between the new Gap outlet store and the Polo Ralph Lauren factory store.

The grand opening will stretch beyond that first morning, though: Special giveaways will take place through the center's grand opening weekend and throughout its first 45 days of business.

The $112 million center boasts about 70 outlet stores and eateries and a state-of-the-art mobile shopping application. To view mall hours, store information, driving directions or to create an account, go to

Also look for individual retailers' plans. As part of Friday's opening-day festivities, the new Borsheims Boutique at Nebraska Crossing Outlets will give away a $1,650 18-karat white gold pendant necklace featuring black and white diamonds. Visitors can enter to win the necklace inside the Borsheims Boutique. No purchase is necessary to enter and the winner doesn't need to be present. The winner will be randomly chosen at the end of the day.
