The area's newest Goodwill store will open Friday at 704 Gold Coast Drive in Papillion. Opening ceremonies, including a ribbon cutting and flag dedication, will take place at 8:30 a.m.
The 16,500-square-foot building — Goodwill's second Papillion store – houses a retail store, training rooms and donation drop-off area.
Designed by RDG Planning and Design and built by the Kiewit Building Group, the new facility creates 30 new job opportunities, said Randy Parks, Goodwill's chief operating officer. Woodmen of the World Lodge 706 donated the flagpole.
“This location will provide a quality shopping and donating experience, while at the same time allow for opportunities to expand Goodwill's training programs for people who want to work,” Parks said in a prepared statement.
With the store's opening, the nonprofit agency now operates 17 facilities in Greater Omaha, including Gretna, Fremont and Council Bluffs.
