Lincoln pet food company Nature's Variety has recalled a batch of its raw organic chicken formula for dogs and cats after a consumer complaint.

The company recalled Instinct Raw Organic Chicken Formula with a “Best if Used By” date of Oct. 4 and said the pet food may contain pieces of clear plastic that could cause choking. No instances of harm have been reported.

The company said the source of plastic was identified and the problem solved.
