Developers of the MoneyClip Mobile mobile wallet system will officially launch the technology tonight during the weekly Saturday concert at Aksarben Village.

As we reported in July, the system lets customers pay for items at the center using a bar code on their mobile phones, and will let the businesses push coupons and other offers to users who are shopping, dining or catching a movie at the center.

The event is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. tonight at the center, 2232 S. 64th St. Developers of the program will introduce it to the audience and will host a tent to discuss the program with customers, help them sign up, answer questions and give away MoneyClip “swag.”

Businesses that have signed up so far to participate are Jones Bros. Cupcakes, Juice Stop, Wohlner's grocery, LearningHQ, LIV Lounge, Pinhook Flats and Broadmoor apartments, and the Scott Technology Center.

Note: An earlier version of this item misstated the start time of the event.
