Berkshire Hathaway Inc.’s MidAmerican Energy Holdings Co. named Paul Caudill president of NV Energy after completing its purchase of the Nevada utility, whose chief executive officer will step down next year.

Caudill, who had been president of MidAmerican Solar, will work with NV Energy CEO Michael Yackira, who plans to retire in June, the companies said Thursday.

The Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice gave the go-ahead Thursday for the $5.6billion deal. The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada gave its approval Tuesday.
