Iowa’s sales tax holiday, which strips state and local sales tax from everyday clothing and footwear priced at less than $100 each, is today and Saturday.

Nebraska does not have a sales tax holiday, though many residents say they wish the Husker State would institute one.

The two-day tax break attracts Iowa and Nebraska shoppers. State residency is not required to receive the sales tax benefit.

Mall of the Bluffs, for one, is bringing Treasure Moment’s trackless train for children to ride throughout the mall, located at 1751 Madison Ave. in Council Bluffs, said Andrea Leinen, the mall’s property manager.

Shoppers who spend a combined total of $50 during a one-day period will be eligible for a buy-one-get-one-free offer on the purchase of train tickets.
