For a bigger paycheck, consider majoring in business.

The starting salaries for this year’s business graduates grew nearly 8 percent to $55,635, according to a survey of about 400,000 employers this month by the National Association of Colleges and Employers. Business graduates outpaced the average starting salary for the Class of 2013, which grew just 2.4 percent this year to $45,327.

Graduates of the computer science field saw the largest decrease, down 2.5 percent to $58,547 this year, meanwhile graduates of math and science fields saw the least movement with salaries up .9 percent to $42,731.
