Jobs, training available at North Omaha forum Monday

Employers and Laborers Local, an affiliate of the Laborers’ International Union of North America, will be on hand at the North Omaha First Monday Forum on Monday.

Ron Kaminski, Laborers’ Local will discuss and take applications for the Unions’ Apprenticeship Program located at Metro Community College, which provides paid on-the-job training for skills such as carpentry.

There will also be representatives from the Walmart at 56th and Ames Streets and the NorthStar Boys Club Development, among others, to discuss job openings.

The North Omaha First Monday Forum meets at noon the first Monday of each month at Chef Mike’s Community Cafe, 2401 Lake St., featuring speakers and issues that affect North Omaha.
