Supermarket chain Hy-Vee will be telling stories this summer about some of the region’s farmers on its Facebook page.

“Our relationships with farmers across the Midwest mean Hy-Vee customers will enjoy the freshest produce available. We’ll be telling their stories here all summer,” the Facebook page says.

To help customers identify locally produced foods, the chain is putting a “homegrown” label on them and identifying the farm where the item was produced.

Hy-Vee, which is based in West Des Moines, operates 235 stores.
