The first Hu Hot Mongolian Grill to open in Omaha is moving from its Old Mill location near West Dodge Road and North 114th Street.

The restaurant is expected to reopen the first or second week of June in its new location, which is Cunningham's old spot at 120th and Blondo Streets, Hu Hot partner Brendan Crowley said.

Crowley said it was time to move because of the changes in design Hu Hot restaurants have undergone in the years since opening, and it didn't make sense to update the existing space. Hu Hot franchise owner Restaurants Inc. also moved its Stokes Bar & Grill location from the same strip center last October.

“We just needed to refresh both locations,” Crowley said.

In Lincoln, a second Lincoln Hu Hot opened Thursday at the intersection of 27th Street and Pine Lake Road.

Restaurants Inc., has three Hu Hot restaurants in Omaha and one in Council Bluffs. The company also operates other Omaha restaurants, including Stokes Bar & Grill, Smashburger and Twisted Fork Grill & Saloon.
