Groundbreaking today for senior living with day spa, movie theater, gardening

Hillcrest Health Services will break ground at 11 a.m. Wednesday on the The Grand Lodge at Hillcrest Country Estates, the final phase of the 44-acre retirement community located at Highway 370 and South 60th Street in Papillion.

The Grand Lodge will feature 101 independent living apartments, 60 assisted living and memory support apartments and a 32,000 square-foot clubhouse, with an expected opening in late 2014. More than 60 people will be hired to staff the new addition.

The resort-style clubhouse will feature amenities such as a heated indoor saltwater pool; a hot tub; a full-service salon and day spa; a fitness an exercise classroom; a movie theater; a restaurant, bistro and pub; and resident gardening areas.

The Hillcrest Country Estates campus currently offers maintenance-free Signature Villas for those 55 and older, all-inclusive independent living apartments, and household-model skilled nursing cottages.

"This is a significant milestone for our organization as we continue to grow our services to enhance the lives of aging adults," said Hillcrest's Vice President of Communications, Jim Janicki in a news release. "The Grand Lodge caters to aging adults who want to maintain an active life and enjoy their later years with grand amenities and conveniences."
