Goodwill Industries will ‘dig’ in Thursday for a ground breaking ceremony for its newest retail and training facility, located at 11722 Standing Stone Drive in Gretna.

Goodwill executives and city officials, including Gretna Mayor Jim Timmerman and Brad Stauffer, president of the Gretna Chamber of Commerce, will attend the event, which begins at 2 p.m.

The 15,500 square-foot building will house a retail store, production room, donation drop-off area and training room.

When completed this fall, the facility will employ 30 people and be the nonprofit agency’s 16th retail and training facility. The Gretna location, on the south side of Highway 31 at Bryan Street, was designed by RDG Schutte Wilscam Birge and will be built by the Kiewit Building Group.
