Fat Brain Toys president will get ball rolling at MarkeTECH

Mark Carson, president and co-founder of Fat Brain Toys, a toy retailer and manufacturer based in the Elkhorn area, will be the speaker kicking off this year's MarkeTECH Conference.

The conference on marketing and technology for small-business owners and entrepreneurs will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 12 at the UNO Thompson Alumni Center, 6705 Dodge St.

Other speakers include Mark Haner, who leads the Yahoo! small-business sales team based in Omaha; Steve Maly, founder of Lincoln-based Maly Marketing; Rod Smith, co-founder of software consultant Volano Solutions in Omaha; Mike Bitter, founder of Affordable Social Media in Omaha; Paige Cahill, regional development director for Constant Contact, a small-business marketing firm based in Waltham, Mass.; Norm Krug with international exporter Preferred Popcorn of Chapman, Neb.; and Dave Storey, Omaha World-Herald director of advertising.

Registration for GROW Nebraska or Omaha Chamber members is $50 and $99 for nonmembers, with a special student rate of $25.

A networking reception will be held that evening from 6 to 8 at Performance Group, 13308 Chandler Road. The registration deadline is June 7. For more information or to register, visit www.grownebraska.org.
