Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Eberhart Capital LLC announced on Monday the acquisition of Poling Transportation Inc., near 72nd and F Streets.
With the acquisition, the Omaha company's name is changing to Poling Express. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The 60 Omaha employees, including the management team, will continue to work in Omaha, said Dan Eberhart, managing director of Eberhart Capital. He said he has plans to triple the Omaha workforce in the next five years.
Eberhart already has two other trucking companies: Twin Express in Rogers, Minn., and Golden Drop in Los Angeles. Altogether, Eberhart Capital now has about 300 employees, including 200 of its own truck drivers, plus it works with an additional 150 owner-operator drivers.
Poling was founded in 1974 by Gene Poling. The company delivered dairy products to grocery stores, retirement homes and hospitals and has since expanded into moving refrigerated goods across the country.
Eberhart said the Omaha location was good because it's centrally located and near dairy and meat production facilities. “I'm excited about being in Omaha,” he said.
