Downtown Omaha Gavilon headquarters reaches higher

Work keeps humming along on Gavilon's new headquarters, a $44 million project at 14th Street and Capitol Avenue.

The 131,225-square-foot glass office building — with a state-of-the-art trading floor — is to be complete by the end of 2013.

Here's a look at the progress as of Friday morning. Toward the back of the building in the first shot, a new level of steel beams can be seen rising from the project.

Ultimately, the building should look something like this.
