The Donut Professor doughnut shop near 72nd and Pacific Streets closed June 1.

Owner David Larsen said the company's lease was up and the location wasn't working out economically.

“We thought, well, let's cut our losses and move on,” Larsen said.

Employees were moved to the company's other stores.

The Donut Professor is a locally-owned business that opened in 2006, Larsen said. It has six other locations in Omaha.
