Creighton University ethicist Beverly Kracher has been named a "Top 100 Thought Leader" by Trust Across America -- Trust Around the World, a group that encourages trustworthy behavior by businesses.

Kracher is a professor of ethics and society and CEO and executive director of the Business Ethics Alliance in Omaha. She’s the only one from Nebraska or Iowa on the list.

The recognition said she has made extensive and positive contributions to building trust in organizations, with the potential for transforming the way they do business. Omaha’s business ethics group is "the most comprehensive, CEO-engaged, city-level business ethics organization in the nation," the award said.

The trust group’s executive director, Barbara Kimmel, said the thought leaders "are inspiring organizations to look more closely at their higher purpose ... to create greater value for, and trust from, all of their stakeholders. They understand that trust is an asset that can leverage real business gains."

Trust Across America is a program of Next Decade Inc., a communications and publishing firm in Chester, N.J.
