The first ever Cinnabon to open in a convenience store began serving the signature gooey, frosting-covered cinnamon rolls and related items Friday inside the Pump & Pantry just off Interstate 80 and Highway 370.

Pump & Pantry, operated by Grand Island-based Bosselman Companies, announced it will also be adding Cinnabon counters to nine other Pump & Pantry locations in Nebraska.

“We'll be rolling those out one at a time,” said Bosselman spokeswoman Stephanie King-Witt, who added about the first one: “I was told there was a line out the door this morning.”

The Sarpy County location, 11108 Sapp Brothers Drive, and several others will feature full Cinnabon Bakeries, where products will be baked and served in view of customers during most hours, and sold in take-home packs the rest of the hours.

Bosselman operates 49 Pump & Pantry stores throughout the state.

“We were just looking for ... something different that no one else had, that everyone loves,” King-Witt said.
