Sidney, Neb.-based Cabela's on Thursday announced plans for a new store in Noblesville, Ind., to serve the greater Indianapolis area.

The seller of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear joins the Hammond, Ind., location opened in 2007.

Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, and the 80,000-square-foot store is designed to surround customers with an outdoor experience. It is expected to open in fall 2015 and to employ about 170 full- and part-time employees.

Currently, Cabela's operates 51 stores across North America and has announced plans to open an additional 23 over the next two years.
