Construction is underway on the Omaha area's seventh Walmart Neighborhood Market, just north of Dodge Street on Saddle Creek Road.

The store is expected to open this summer, and the hiring process will begin in coming months, said Walmart spokeswoman Rachel Wall. “We will be looking to hire up to 95 associates to fill a mix of full- and part-time positions,” she said.

Six Walmart Neighborhood Markets, the retailer's smaller-format grocery stores, have opened. The most recent opening was just north of 90th and Blondo Streets earlier this month.

The stand-alone grocery stores, typically about 41,000 square feet, or about one-fifth the size of a full Walmart Supercenter, generally stay open around the clock and offer fresh produce, a deli, a bakery, meat and dairy products, frozen foods, dry goods, beauty items and a pharmacy.
