Nebraska wolf-dog boards cargo plane for California national forest

Kona, the wolf-dog that has been staying at the Central Nebraska Humane Society since its owner relinquished it, traveled to Omaha on Monday morning and, at 6 a.m., boarded a cargo plane headed to California.
Laurie Dethloff, executive director of the Central Nebraska Humane Society, said Kona’s permanent home will be at the Lockwood Animal Rescue Center in the Los Padres National Forest, 90 minutes north of Los Angeles.
