Angela Arp knows good beer. The 39-year-old Omaha native is event coordinator for the Great Nebraska Beerfest and marketing chairwoman for 2013 Omaha Beer Week, which started Friday and runs through Feb. 24. She coordinates events and tackles other duties at the Nebraska Brewing Co., and co-founded Barley's Angels of Nebraska, a craft beer group for women. She no doubt has favorite beers. But she went a different direction when we asked her for her five favorites in life.

1. My grandmother's wedding rings: “When my grandmother was moved into the Alzheimer's wing of a nursing home, my mother and grandfather gave me my grandmother's original wedding ring (from 1937), as well as the ring from their 50th anniversary vow renewal in 1987. I wear one or the other of these rings every day. While they might not hold much monetary value, every time I look at my hand I feel the love that the entire family had for my grandmother.”
