Jackson the cairn terrier loved jumping in snow drifts and watching out the front door for cars and people.
He had been an overall healthy dog, but when it finally came time to put the 12-year-old animal to sleep last fall after he was diagnosed with liver cancer, his Omaha owners didn’t take him to the vet.
