It's a day of mixed emotions at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln. Sadness and warm memories as Tom Osborne – legendary Husker coach, NU athletic director, former Congressman and TeamMates Mentoring Program founder – steps away from Nebraska athletics.

Thursday is his last day in the office, and Osborne officially leaves the Huskers' athletic department on June 30. He retired on Jan. 2 as athletic director, but has been putting in nine-hour days in an athletic director emeritus role to help with the transition to Shawn Eichorst.
