Notes: Abdullah says confident Armstrong becoming 'captain of the offense'
Quarterback Tommy Armstrong, right, fakes a handoff to I-back Imani Cross during Monday's practice. Fellow back Ameer Abdullah likes the leadership Armstrong is showing this spring. “He never gets mad at a teammate. He's always encouraging, which is what you want as a leader,” Abdullah said.

Ameer Abdullah sees the growth in Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong in one key area: confidence.
“He carries himself with high self-esteem. Last year, he was kind of up and down, because he didn't really know how to finish out a season at all,” Abdullah said. “Now he understands that and he's really commanding the team. I'm really comfortable with Tommy. He's really directing traffic well.”
