GENEVA, Ohio — This year the start was fine for Oladapo Akinmoladun at the Big Ten indoor track and field championships. And the finish? Even sweeter.
The Nebraska sophomore from Grandview, Mo., who committed a false start in last year’s 60-meter hurdles final, won the conference title Saturday with a meet record of 7.61 seconds — the fastest time in the NCAA this season. His mark edged the old record by one-hundredth of a second set by Illinois’ Andrew Riley in 2012.
