LINCOLN — There is one native Nebraskan who would've gotten a kick out of Bo Pelini's cat show.

Johnny Carson always liked a good animal gag on “The Tonight Show.” Pelini's look of bemusement captured in newspaper photos fits right into the Carson playbook. Pelini has shown himself to be a bit of a good sport, embracing the exciting, absurdist world of social media. Hey, I'm a part of it, too. Sportswriters try to top each other on Twitter with quips and one-liners daily. Pelini totes Anya the Cat.
