LINCOLN — It's no secret that Nebraska's depth chart at defensive end, at least for this spring, is thinner than store-bought taco sauce. The Huskers have only three healthy scholarship players available — Randy Gregory, Greg McMullen and junior college import Joe Keels. A fourth, A.J. Natter, is out for spring with a knee injury.
So coach Bo Pelini has gotten creative in recent practices, including Saturday's scrimmage. And his idea — and throwback to his one-year stint as NU defensive coordinator in 2003 — can give the Huskers some exotic pass-rush looks next fall.
