The burger at the Peppermill and E.K. Valentine Lounge in Valentine, Neb., won the Nebraska Beef Council's third annual “Nebraska's Best Burger” contest.

The Joseph Angus Burger at the Peppermill got enough votes online to be in the top five, and then a panel of judges chose the burger as its favorite. The burger is a 10-ounce beef hamburger with jalapeno bacon, cob-smoked ham, barbecue sauce, house ranch dressing, Swiss and cheddar cheeses and is topped with two crispy homemade onion rings. The Peppermill will be awarded the first-place plaque and will be featured by the Beef Council as part of Nebraska Beef Month.
