It's another summer month at the box office. With the Fourth of July on Thursday, the weekend's major new releases, "Despicable Me 2" and "The Lone Ranger," are out Wednesday, two days early.
"Despicable Me 2" is the early frontrunner to be July's highest-grossing film, ahead of "The Wolverine" (July 26) and "Pacific Rim" (July 12). Released in July 2010, "Despicable Me" opened to $56.4 million in U.S. theaters and grossed $543.1 million worldwide.
