The following are some other books that have a Midlands tie — author, subject, setting, publisher. Some are new titles; some are books published over the past six to nine months that readers may have missed.

“George Norris, Going Home” by Gene A. Budig and Don Walton (University of Nebraska Press, $18.95). A look at the life and career of Norris, who served Nebraska for five terms in the House of Representatives and five terms in the Senate, until he was defeated for re-election in 1942. McCook native Budig is a former chancellor of the University of Kansas and president of baseball's American League. Walton is a political writer for the Lincoln Journal Star.
