Pauly Shore, former MTV VJ and star of assorted 1990s stoner comedies (most notably “Encino Man”), will bring his stand-up act to the Funny Bone Comedy Club, 17305 Davenport St., this weekend.

In 2003, Shore wrote, directed and starred in a semi-autobiographical mocumentary called “Pauly Shore Is Dead,” about a fading comic named Pauly Shore who seeks to reignite public interest by faking his own death. In 2009, he wrote, directed and starred in another mocumentary called “Adopted,” in which he poked fun at the trend of celebrities adopting children from third-world countries. A comedy special, “Pauly-tics,” aired on Showtime last year.
