Tonight, indie rock duo Widowspeak performs at Slowdown. Singer Molly Hamilton talked about the group’s latest album, “Almanac,” in an interview with the band’s label Captured Tracks. The label asked her to describe to a deaf person what the record sounds like. “'Almanac' is like moving into a big old house in the woods with sheets covering all the furniture, and then taking all the sheets off,” she said. Tickets are $8 and the show starts at 9 p.m. Pure Bathing Culture will open up.

In Lincoln, indie rock group Author will play the Bourbon Theater. The group is in the midst of a midwest tour. Check them out along with opener Valaska starting at 9 p.m. Tickets are $5 if you’re 21 and older, $7 ages 18 to 20.
