The Railyard, the new entertainment district in Lincoln's Haymarket, is throwing a giant launch party on Friday.

From 4 p.m. to midnight, the newly developed Canopy Street will be shut down and converted into a stage featuring performances from Life is Cool; Rock, Paper, Dynamite; Holy Ghost!; and one surprise act. The event will also include giveaways of more than 300 giftcards to neighborhood bars and restaurants, as well as other elements intended to showcase the area's potential as a venue, said Stefanie Warner, who is organizing the event. Warner is also planning “a few little pop-up performances,” which will remain a surprise.
