La Vista’s Cut Spike Distillery, the sister company of Lucky Bucket Brewing, won a double gold medal for its single malt whiskey at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition earlier this week. The double gold medal is the competition’s highest honor.

Its the first such win for a Nebraska-based distillery, and this year’s competition had more entrants than in years past: more than 1,400 from 41 states and 63 countries.
