Johnny Carson mural to be created in downtown Norfolk

Visitors to Norfolk and residents soon will have a much more visible reminder that the late Johnny Carson grew up there.

Plans are in the works to have Norfolk artist Karl Reeder create a new mural featuring various images of Carson — who grew up in Norfolk and went on to host NBC's “The Tonight Show” for 30 years — on the side of the former Andrew Bicycle building in downtown Norfolk.
