Good picks at Brix in Midtown: wine, classic dishes
The plank salmon at Brix's Midtown Crossing location has a bourbon maple glaze and is served with herbed potatoes and asparagus. “He doesn't overthink the food,” owner Dan Matuszek says of chef Erik Rickard. “He likes to take simple flavors and take his own twist on them.”

The new Midtown Crossing location of Brix, a mashup of retail wine store and restaurant that originated in west Omaha, was hopping on a recent weekday evening.
Music blared. People chatted. And the wine flowed like water from the state-of-the-art wine machines for which the restaurant is known.
