Though cold outside Saturday night, inside the Orpheum Theater it was practically tropical, thanks to the pulsing, rhythmic movements of Ronald K. Brown’s Evidence Dance Company.

The eponymous choreographer showcased his distinctive kinetic style with performances that demonstrated his role as a cultural arbiter who constructs finely tuned narratives, handling issues of spirituality, community and, ultimately, the human experience.
