No. 2 Creighton, despite appearing fatigued during its third match in eight days, had just enough for a Columbia squad that was playing in its season opener.
Timo Pitter’s third goal of the season in the 77th minute broke a 1-1 tie, and the Bluejays went on to a 3-1 win in front of a Morrison Stadium crowd of 5,102 — the sixth-largest in school history.
