With a Creighton bullpen badly in need of some rest, freshman hurler Tommy Strunc turned out to be just what the doctor ordered.
Strunc scattered three hits in 713 innings on 114 pitches while striking out eight and walking four to lift Creighton to a 7-2 win over the University of the Pacific in front of a season-opening TD Ameritrade Park crowd of 2,246.
