BOWLING GREEN, Ohio — Creighton coach Kirsten Bernthal Booth’s 300th career win also was a milestone for the Bluejay program: Friday’s victory marked the first time Creighton had defeated a top-15 team.

The No. 25 Bluejays overcame an opening-set loss to defeat No. 13 BYU 22-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-15 at the Hampton Inn Invitational, the season-opening match for both teams. Before Friday, the highest ranked team Creighton had defeated was No. 16 Iowa State in the 2010 NCAA tournament.
