PROVIDENCE, R.I. — The Creighton men’s soccer team dropped its opening match of the Big East tournament, falling 2-1 Tuesday to Providence.
Fifth-seeded Creighton (9-8-2, 4-4-1) was playing without two of its top three scorers. The Jays were without freshman Fabian Herbers and junior Jose Ribas, who served one-game suspensions after each incurred their fifth yellow card of the season in Friday’s loss to the Friars.
