Creighton’s Lauren Smith heads home to face Huskers

Lauren Smith is more accustomed to going to the Devaney Center for swim meets than volleyball matches. The Creighton middle blocker was a multi-sport athlete for Lincoln Pius X and qualified for the state swimming and diving championships all four years.

Bluejays hope to extinguish Flames

Illinois-Chicago scored a 2-1 win over the Bluejays in 2005. Two seasons later, the Flames knocked Creighton out of the NCAA tournament with a 1-0 victory at Morrison. The second-ranked Bluejays will try to deny Illinois-Chicago a third victory at Morrison when the teams play Tuesday in a 7 p.m. match.
