Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska will award up to $100,000 in grant money this year to nonprofit groups in Nebraska, outside of Lincoln and Omaha.
The insurance company is now accepting grant applications. The grants typically support ventures that fight obesity, diabetes, smoking, mental health issues and other public health programs.
Blue Cross has invested more than $533,000 to wellness organizations in 30 communities across the state since 2008.
