MADISON, Wis. — Nebraska capped the dual portion of its schedule with a 22-15 win at Wisconsin on Friday night.
The eighth-ranked Huskers finish with a 6-2 record in Big Ten duals and 12-2 overall. They also handed the No. 15 Badgers their second conference loss — Wisconsin will host Iowa on Sunday.
The dual was tied 9-9 at the midway point after Wisconsin freshman Isaac Jordan, who is ranked seventh nationally, earned a 3-1 sudden victory over top-ranked James Green. It’s the first loss of the season for the 157-pound Green.
But the Huskers responded with three consecutive bonus-point wins to take a 22-9 lead and clinch the victory.
At 165, NU sophomore Austin Wilson started that streak by recorded a takedown and a pair of three-point near-falls in the first period against Frank Cousins. Wilson went on to a 13-0 win.
Robert Kokesh also led 8-0 in the first period as he recorded a 16-1 technical fall win over Scott Liegel at 174. Kokesh, ranked third nationally, improved to 29-1 on the season and finished the dual season with a 14-0 mark. The junior is three wins away from 100 for his college career.
T.J. Dudley then continued with outstanding freshman year with an 11-2 major decision over Dylan Iczkowski at 184 pounds. Dudley, ranked ninth, is 25-4 this season.
Earlier in the dual, a matchup of ranked wrestlers also went to Wisconsin insudden victory as ninth-ranked Ryan Taylor edged No. 11 Tim Lambert 5-3 at 125 pounds. Eight of Lambert’s nine losses this season have been by two points or less.
Nebraska also got wins from 133-pound senior Shawn Nagel, who pinned Matthew Cavallaris in the first round, and 149-pounder Jake Sueflohn. Sueflohn, ranked sixth nationally, has won 14 matches in a row.
Nebraska will return to Madison for its next meet, the Big Ten Championships on March 8-9.
