Fayetteville, Ark. — The Nebraska men set a school indoor record in the 1,600-meter relay Saturday, finishing second at the Tyson Invitational.
The team of Jake Bender, Levi Gipson, Drew Wiseman and Cody Rush finished in 3:06.93. The performance ranks among the top 10 in the country this year, and broke the school mark of 3:07.63, set last year.
On the afternoon, the Huskers earned five personal-best marks along with four season-best times, including the school record.
Several Huskers also competed Saturday at the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.
Nebraska was led by sophomore Oladapo Akinmoladun, who won the men’s 60-meter hurdles in 7.95 seconds.
The Huskers will be back at the Devaney Center on Friday for the Nebraska Tune-Up before heading to the Big Ten indoor championships in two weeks.
