An Omaha woman allegedly set fire to Bible pages after a dispute with motel management Thursday night.
Carolettia R. Looney, 43, is in custody after an incident at the American Inn at 2717 S. 24th St., according to the Council Bluffs Police Department.
Around 8:30 p.m., Looney ripped pages from a Bible, placed them in a trash can and set them ablaze, according to Police Sgt. Chad Meyers. Looney admitted to setting the fire and told police she was angry at management because she'd told them she prepaid enough to cover four days of rent, which was disputed.
A security guard extinguished the fire, Meyers said.
Authorities arrested Looney on suspicion of first-degree arson. Police said Looney was under the influence of alcohol at the time of her arrest. Looney remains at the Pottawattamie County Jail on a $25,000 bond.
