Omaha police arrested a 36-year-old man late Wednesday in connection with a stolen vehicle.
About 11:45 p.m., an officer in the area of 43rd and J Streets spotted a vehicle matching the description of a stolen vehicle that had been involved in a robbery.
Police said the officer attempted to stop the vehicle near 48th and L Streets, but the driver refused to stop. He eventually lost control of the vehicle at 49th and U Streets, where he fled from the vehicle on foot, police said.
Peter Ruedas Jr. was arrested at 5426 S. 48th St. with the help of a police dog.
During the search for Ruedas, an officer landed awkwardly after scaling a fence, injuring his ankle.
Ruedas and the officer were taken to Nebraska Medical Center, with Ruedas treated for possible hypothermia and the officer treated for his ankle injury.
Police said Ruedas was arrested on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking, flight to avoid arrest and obstructing an officer.
