Lincoln's new half marathon, the Good Life Halfsy, sold out 36 hours after public registration opened Saturday morning.
Race officials said 3,000 people signed up for the fall event.
"The buzz over the weekend was incredible," co-director Jason Bakewell said.
The half marathon is Sunday, Nov. 9, six months after the city's signature Lincoln Marathon in May.
Organizers will open more spots to a select number of runners who are interested in fundraising for the event's charitable partners. Those who wish to participate can join the wait list.
The Halfsy's downhill route starts at Seacrest Field, near 70th and A Streets, and stretches west before finishing in the Haymarket District.
