Nebraska senior Tatum Edwards was one of 50 players named to the player of the year watch list, the Amateur Softball Association of America and USA Softball announced Wednesday.
Edwards was one of five Big Ten players named to the watch list and the first Husker on the list since her twin sister, Taylor, was named to the 2012 list.
Tatum Edwards finished with a 30-10 record and a 1.91 ERA last season, when she was named a second-team All-American and the Big Ten pitcher of the year. Edwards ranked 11th nationally in shutouts last season and was 12th in victories.
Edwards also owns a .291 career batting average. Her 32 career home runs rank fifth in school history, while she's sixth on Nebraska's all-time chart with a .564 slugging percentage.
